Sunflower - You Are My Sunshine Greeting Card

I am in recovery from an eating disorder. I always liked sunflowers because they reminded me of recovery and the joy of facing the sun even when it was cloudy. In early 2018, I got a sunflower tattoo. Later that year, while I was in treatment, I met a sweet girl named Katherine who I bonded with immediately. Shortly after we both discharged from treatment, she asked if she could get the same sunflower tattoo as me, because for her — it represented happiness and recovery. The same things it represented for me. I told her “yes!” and a few weeks later she got it, sending me a photo of the tattoo with the text, “well if u weren’t sure of how much you’ve inspired me, now there’s no question lol”. Today, 9/26, is 5 years since she passed away from an unrelated, undiagnosed health condition. I miss her every single day and I see her in every sunflower.
